1 Who We Are

MyKeyBox is an independent mobile application developed by Nicolas Laverdet (“we”, “us”, “our”). The App is available on Google Play and the Apple App Store.

Contact details are provided in Section 16. Our Privacy Policy explains how limited data is processed.

2 Description of the Service

MyKeyBox is a local, offline password manager. You can store usernames, passwords, URLs, notes and related information on your own device. The vault is encrypted on the device with AES-256 and PBKDF2 (100 000 iterations and a random salt). Access is protected by a master password that you create.

The free version includes, among other features:

• Unlimited password storage on the device.
• AES-256 + PBKDF2 encryption and master-password protection.
• Password generator, search, filters and favorites.
• Quick copy and URL launcher.
• Screenshot protection on Android and iOS.
• Multilingual interface (including English and Spanish).

Additional features require the optional Pro upgrade described in Section 6.

3 Eligibility and Acceptance

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the App. If you are under the age of majority, you may use the App only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

By using the App you confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms and that you will comply with applicable law, including the Google Play Terms of Service or the Apple Media Services Terms of Use when you download the App from Google Play or the App Store.

4 Licence to Use the App

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use, and in accordance with these Terms.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the App, except where applicable law expressly allows it.
• Rent, sell, sublicense or redistribute the App.
• Remove copyright, trademark or other proprietary notices.
• Use the App to store or manage data in a way that violates the law.
• Attempt to circumvent security, licence or purchase verification mechanisms.

5 Your Responsibilities

Because the vault is stored only on your device, you are solely responsible for the security of your data.

• Master password. Choose a strong master password and keep it secret. We never receive it and we cannot reset or recover it.
• Device security. Protect your device with a lock screen and keep the operating system updated.
• Backups. If you uninstall the App without exporting a backup, all locally stored data is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered by us.
• Accuracy of entries. You are responsible for the content you store (credentials, notes, custom fields, exported files).
• Lawful use. Use the App only for credentials and information that you are authorised to store.

6 Free Version and MyKeyBox Pro

The App may be used free of charge with the features listed in Section 2. MyKeyBox Pro is an optional one-time in-app purchase (product identifier mykeybox_pro) that unlocks additional features.

The displayed price (currently €3.99 or the equivalent in your local currency) is a one-time purchase: no subscription. The final price, taxes and currency are those shown by Google Play or the Apple App Store at the time of purchase.

Pro status can be restored on another device using the credentials you choose at purchase time (a pseudonymous identifier is used for entitlement checks). Keep those credentials safe; we cannot recover them for you.

7 Payments, Refunds and Third Parties

Payments are processed by Google Play Billing and the Apple App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

Purchase validation and Pro entitlements are managed through RevenueCat. RevenueCat may process a pseudonymous user ID, transaction receipts and limited device/platform metadata. See their privacy policy and our Privacy Policy.

Refunds are handled exclusively under the refund policies of Google Play or Apple. Request a refund through the store from which you purchased Pro. We cannot issue a refund independently of the store.

8 Security Features and Data Loss

Security tools in the App are provided to help you protect your vault. Using them is at your own risk.

• Auto-destruct (Pro). After 5 consecutive failed master-password attempts, all local data is wiped and cannot be restored unless you have an independent backup.
• Secure wipe (Pro). This action is irreversible.
• Uninstall. Removing the App deletes local data.
• Exported files (Pro). Encrypted JSON backups and PDF files are generated on the device and shared only through the system share sheet. We do not upload them. You are responsible for where you store or send those files.

9 Intellectual Property

The App, its name, logo, design, source code, documentation and website are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you.

“MyKeyBox” and the App icon are used to identify the product. You may not use them in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation without our prior written consent.

Content you store in the vault remains yours. We do not claim any rights over your passwords or notes.

10 Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

In particular, we do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of defects.
• Encryption or other security measures will be immune to all attacks or to loss of the device.
• The App will meet every security or compliance requirement of your organisation.

Nothing in these Terms excludes mandatory consumer rights that cannot be waived under the law of your country of residence (including EU consumer law).

11 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for:

• Loss of the master password, vault, backups or exported files.
• Data deletion caused by uninstall, auto-destruct, secure wipe or device failure.
• Unauthorised access resulting from a weak master password, a compromised device or files you shared.
• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data or goodwill.
• Acts or omissions of Google, Apple, RevenueCat or other third parties.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for MyKeyBox Pro in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or ten euros (€10) if you use only the free version.

12 Third-Party Services and Links

The App may open external URLs that you save in an entry. Those sites are not controlled by us. Google Play, Apple, RevenueCat and your device manufacturer have their own terms and privacy policies.

The App does not integrate advertising networks, social-media SDKs, crash-reporting tools or analytics libraries.

13 Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may discontinue or modify the App, or restrict access, if required by law or if you materially breach these Terms.

Termination does not affect rights already acquired. Local data is deleted when you uninstall the App or wipe the device, unless you previously exported a backup.

14 Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The new version will be published at the same URL and the “Last updated” date will be revised. For significant changes we may also notify users inside the App or on the store listing.

Continued use of the App after the updated Terms are posted constitutes acceptance of the changes, except where applicable law requires explicit consent.

15 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence if you are a consumer in the European Union or the European Economic Area.

If any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions continue in full force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
